The Institute for Hydromechanics
and Hydrology of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Bechteler BauV6
is part of the University of the Federal Armed Forces
Munich UniBwM.
The university was founded in 1973.
The UniBwM guarantees the scientific education of officer
students of the German Federal Armed Forces.The UniBwM
prepare the students for those professional tasks, which
require scientific knowledge and methods. The UniBwM
attends continuity and development of science and research
supplying infrastructure, laboratories and computer
equipment.
The Institute for Hydromechanics and
Hydrology was founded in 1978.
A hydraulic laboratory of 1000m2 and an additional domain
of 2400m2 for large scale models is part of the institute.
The institute fulfills educational
and research tasks.
The research at the Institute
for Hydromechanics and Hydrology during the last years
was focussed on:
- Development
and application of numerical models
- Investigations
on gated installations
- Investigations
on the simulation of photovoltaical pumping systems

projects are:
- flooding and inundation
- dam-break
- sediment transport
- flow in sewerage systems
- photovoltaic
The institute has 21 employees including
the 8 employees of the loboratory.
